A recent update

Im getting another EMG next month and I want to have them every six months.. to help me gauge my condition.. I also run and balance on my legs too and I figure my balance will be the first indicator in my legs? I will see my neurologist next month too.

My boss was at my desk today and she saw how my left hand functions.. I watched her type on her keyboard and I wanted to type like her again.

Last week at work was "h&&&" week and today was a bit more too.

I'm more into all of work though and that can't hurt my prospects there too.

I;m two years from 50 percent retirement and three years from sixty percent reitrement. I want to quantify my remaining active time and based on that estimate I will choose my best course.. I saw in this als video where this woman with lung cancer went traveling too.

Jake and I are getting along well now, much better then when we lived together too.

I haven't told anyone at work about my condition? But maybe a few.. it might be going around now. I'm participating in a pre als study now too, I'd like to do more of this too.

I've put my student loan on hold and I'm going to put my credit cards on hold too.

I speak to some people like I'm going to be around a long time, but sometines I start thinking that I won't be around much longer..how long is yet to be estimated.

I run, do pushups and situps. -- but als is insidious, it will pull those motor neurons away right out from under my feet -- while I'm doing all of this stuff. Like it did with my left hand. I read that als usually attacks the second same limb, before crossing the waist.

So this is the short version of my current state and I'll keep you informed as things progress.

wellness

Wellness means much more than the absence of sickness. It is a way of living the at emphasizes such preventive3 measures as eating healthful foods, making exercise and enjoyable part of your life, and making self-care decisions that will actively improve the quality of your life.

Wellness means reducing your risk for chronic disease, preventing and treating injuries, banishing environmental and safety hazards from your home and your workplace, and eliminating unnecessary trips to the doctor-- while making the best use of the health-care system when you need it.

This is my philosophy and I hope it is yours too!!

Health and Fitness? Today? Tomarrow?

At certain times in our lives, we become aware of issues in life thru repeated messages to us.

So I recently reached an age where I've joined a large political group.

I've been running for most of my life and I've enjoyed the runners lifestyle... But I must also acknowledge that those Haagen Daz bars and Oatmeal cookies have added up... to 20 pounds in the last three years.

I bought a new bathroom scale (digital) and now have started tracking my weight on my laptop (excel).. I have created a chart displaying my weight change over the last 60 days..

Diet -- Nutrition

We take pills - vitamins and Herbs.... etc for health.. but vegetables offer many nutrients for our health.

I watched "super size me" and "thank you for smoking" -- I recommend these for your health too!

And also Nacho Libre, and Little Miss Sunshine!! For your Mental Health too!

My meal plan:

Breakfast:

Granola with Tri Berry Mix

Lunch:

Lean Ole Burrito with fresh veggies:
- Mini Peppers and Carrots
- Red Peppers provide large amts of vitamin C.

Dinner:

Salad with Onions, Celery, Cucumber, Tomato, Ginger, Horseradish ..
Mixed vegetables: Corn, Carrots, Beans

Grilled Chicken, small baked potatoes (dry butter replacement)

Dessert? I eat enough such that I do not have dessert..

Later in the evening? Tea... with some honey...
